Developing Dancers With Quality Character

Premiere Dance Company is home to many dance styles and offers classes for all ages beginning at 2 years through adult. We welcome boys and girls, the competitive and curious. We pride ourselves in our commitment not only to quality training, but in mentorship on hard work, respect, and discipline. Classes run with the school year and culminate in a recital at the end of the year in late May or early June. 
​We also offer themed summer camps and summer intensives.  
No matter what level dancer or interest, we have something for you!

Class Descriptions

Tu-Two​
*Located at PDC First Position*

Children age 2-3 will learn basic ballet movement and terminology through fun songs and the use of props.  Dance will allow your young dancer to build motor skills, coordination, and confidence.

Ballet/Tap Combo
​*Located at PDC First Position*

Offered in 3 levels for dancers age 3-6. Introduces the basic steps of ballet and tap. Dancers will work on developing coordination, grace, and rhythm.

​Ballet/Jazz Combo
​*Located at PDC First Position*

Offered for dancers age 5-6. Introduces the basic steps of ballet and jazz. Dancers will work on developing coordination, grace, and musicality in ballet as well as focusing on sharp movements, personality, and style in jazz.

Jazz/Tap Combo
​*Located at PDC First Position*

Offered in 4 levels for dancers age 6-10. Introduces the basic steps of jazz and tap for a fun, up-beat class. Dancers will focus on sharp movements and rhythm.

Hip Hop/Tumble Combo
​*Located at PDC First Position*

Offered in 2 levels for ages 4-6. This class is fun and upbeat and is sure to get your young dancer moving! Class will start with a cardio warm up and move into introductory steps for hip hop and tumbling.

Ballet

Ballet is a foundational technique that informs all dance styles. Classes focus on classical ballet technique, proper body alignment, terminology, and musicality. We offer ballet for all levels with ample room for growth. As dancers progress, more complicated combinations will challenge their stamina, strength, and flexibility.

Lyrical

Lyrical combines technical elements of both ballet and jazz. An emphasis is placed on listening to the music and using movement to respond to the lyrics or accents within a song. Dancers will use movement to explore emotion and storytelling. Improvisation will also be introduced.

​Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Pointe classes are by invitation only and only suitable for dancers age 11+. Dancers must be evaluated by the owner and their ballet teacher. 

Tap

Tap is a form of dance by using the shoe, as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. Students will learn rhythm-based tap that focuses on musicality and timing.

Jazz

Jazz is a rhythmic and upbeat style of dance. It focuses on isolations of the body, proper alignment, leaps, turns, and rhythmic aspects of dancing. We range in style of classical jazz, contemporary-jazz, and commercial jazz. ​

Technique

This class will focus on strength and flexibility training. It will incorporate cross-training exercises as well as focus on specific skills suitable for the dancers' level. Dancers can expect many across the floor exercises incorporating jumps, turns, and tricks.

Jumps and Turns

This is a skill-based class focusing on jump and turn combinations to strengthen the competitive dancer. 

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a street style of dance performed to hip hop music. There is an emphasis on footwork, sharp movement, and musicality. 

Acro

Suitable for ages 5 and up. Encourages coordination, spatial awareness, and fine and gross motor skills. Students will increase their strength and flexibility and learn a variety of tumbling and gymnastics skills. 

Specialty Classes

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

​PBT is an innovative body conditioning and strengthening program designed to help dancers find which muscles are needed for correct ballet technique. PBT focuses on core strength, weight placement and alignment of the body through repeated exercises that trigger muscle memory.

Mini-Mester

Mini-Mester is a 4-week session working on choreography and performance skills. Dancers will learn a short dance and perform at a local community event.
This can be an introduction to first time dancers, or an addition to current student's schedules. 
Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes.

Dance With Me
Dance with Me is a "caregiver and me" class for dancers age 18 months - 3 years old. This class offers the opportunity for the adult and dancer to bond while moving and learning together. 
*Please note: Only one caregiver per child is allowed in the classroom at a time. 
Dress Code: 
Attire: Any comfortable athletic clothing
Shoes: Adults can dance in socks, barefoot, or in ballet shoes if they prefer; young dancers should wear ballet shoes
