Recital is just around the corner and we wanted to give some additional details about costumes, hair, and makeup for you to reference for both dress rehearsal and the show!
Costumes:
Costumes should remain in the garment bag provided to you until dress rehearsal or the day of recital. If your dancer has a tutu as part of their costume we ask that you hang it upside down from a hanger by the leotard portion of the costume. This keeps the tutu fluffy and not wrinkled. If you see that your costume is particularly wrinkled you may choose to steam it.
**If your dancer is in multiple numbers and potentially multiple shows, please label every costume so that everything is organized for them to find in between quick changes.
TIGHTS:
There should be tights for your dancer in their garment bag. Dancers will wear pink tights for ballet and tan tights for tap or jazz.
Shoes:
Please make sure that your dancer's shoes fit! Many of our Combo level dancers are growing quickly and have had to borrow shoes at the studio lately because they do not have shoes that fit their feet. We won't be able to provide anyone with shoes to borrow for recital. Additionally, please do not send your dancer with extra clothes or shoes that are not needed. This can get confusing especially for our younger dancers or dancers in multiple numbers.
Hair:
A low ponytail with a center part is required for all dances EXCEPT BALLET. A tutorial is listed below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3_4FO_Mdow (for dancers with more textured hair)
For all Ballet and Pointe classes, a low bun with a center part is required. A tutorial is listed below:

Makeup:
We always recommend some makeup for dancers so that they don't get washed out on stage under the lights. However, we don't require a certain level of makeup. We highly recommend mascara, blush, and lipstick for minimum coverage. Dancers in multiple numbers may consider a setting powder or spray to lock in their makeup as they are dancing and sweating more.
